HK
(Reef) Fish I.D. Association Limited ( HKFID ) is a
non-profit making association registered in Hong Kong in 2005. The association
is formed out of the growing concern over local marine environment, and
the desire to provide scuba diving community with the opportunity to
contribute, understanding and protect marine life.
HKFID aims to achieve these goals through fish identification education programs,
fish counting programs and fish survey projects. Participants may thus learn
not only about the local marine environment when they go into the sea, but
also help to gather valuable information about Hong Kong reef fish. We hope
that these data may contribute to scientific research, local marine study and
conservation policy.
All
committee members, scientists, experts and celebrities are volunteers.
Our ultimate goals are to arouse public awareness
and to cultivate interests in marine life protection. Hence, your generous
support is vital to our success.
From 2005 July onwards, HKFID will organize a series of
activities and events to the members on regular base.
